} Ewha Womans University occurs as personal women's university around central Seoul, South Korea. These are one of a city's big institutions of higher learning, & a right-known of South Korea's women's universities. It was founded inside 1886 by the Methodist Episcopal missionary Mary F. Scranton. A school flower is the pear, the Sino-Korean term for which is the school's name.

History
Ewha Womans University traces its roots back to Mary Scranton's Ewha-hakdang missiin school for girls, which opened by having exclusively 1 student on May 31, 1886 (Lee, 2001). A title, which means "Pear blossom academy," was bestowed per Emperor Gojong the following season. A school began to provide college courses around 1910, and broker courses for women within 1925. Immediately as a result liberatiin on August 15, 1945, the college received government permission to be the university. It was a foremost South Korean university to become officially organized.
